Airbnb is supporting “IT.A.CÀ migranti e viaggiatori”, the first festival in Italy about sustainable tourism taking place in Bologna at the end of May.
The festival celebrates 2017 as the United Nation’s “Year of Sustainable Tourism” and Airbnb is proud to be a partner of and support the #IY2017 UN campaign by promoting a greener way to travel. You can read more about Airbnb’s commitment to promoting sustainable travel here.
IT.A.CÀ encourages travelers to discover new places and cultures through a range of different methods, whether that’s on foot or by bike, through workshops, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, documentaries, books and food tastings. Giving guests the opportunity to experience travel in a truly authentic and sustainable way. This year’s program will focus on “Sustainable Tourism for Development”. There will also be an opportunity for delegates to learn more about the impact of home sharing on sustainable travel.
“The Role of home sharing on the city’s accommodation supply,” Saturday 21st, at 10 AM
A place to stay is just the starting point of getting to know a city well. Every home offers a different point of view and different ways of traveling and experiencing a city. This session will give more information on how home sharing is providing a deeper cultural exchange between hosts and guests and adding further tourist accommodation to the market.
“Sharing is Sustainable”, Sunday 22nd, at 2.30 PM
The panel during this session will discuss how the sharing economy is not just good for the environment, it’s also good for social relations.
Workshops about home sharing developed and run by local hosts will also take place across the weekend. Make sure you try to check them out!
